Reward Offered In Silver Sands State Park Fire
A reward is being offered for help in locating the person or people who intentionally set fire to several storage containers at Silver Sands State Park in Milford following a devasting fire that destroyed a $9.1 million park expansion. According to the state Department of Energy and Environmental Protection, investigators have determined the Sunday, March 24, fire in storage containers at Silver Sands State Park was intentionally set, said DEEP spokesman Lee Sawyer. Stratford Police are asking the public for help identifying a man who is suspected of setting a garbage can on fire at a local gas station. The incident took place around 4 a.m. on Thursday, Jan. 10, two days before the devasting Shakespeare Theater fire, at the gas station on the corner of Stratford and Beardsley avenues, said Stratford Det. Fire Breaks Out At Trumbull Home
Firefighters were able to contain a garage fire, saving a Trumbull home in the process. The fire broke out around 11 p.m. at the home on Glenwood Drive in Trumbull on Thursday, Feb. 21, Long Hill Volunteer Fire officials said on Facebook. First arriving crews reported a heavy fire in the garage, which contained a Lexus SUV and a Porsche, and declared a working fire, the department said. Cat Saved After Fire Breaks Out In Trumbull House
Firefighters managed to save a cat during a large garage fire at a single-story Trumbull home. The fire took place around 4 p.m. Monday, Dec. 10, at a home on Hedgehog Road, said the Trumbull Fire Department. Four Firefighters Injured After Blaze Breaks Out At Fairfield County Home
Four Stratford firefighters were injured fighting a Canaan Road house fire early Tuesday, according to the Stratford Fire Department. Shortly after midnight, the department responded to 361 Canaan Road to find the rear of a three-story, multi-family dwelling engulfed in fire, said Deputy Chief, Fire Marshall Brain Lampart. House Fire In Bridgeport May Have Been Intentionally Set
Bridgeport fire officials are working with the State Fire Marshal's lab and local detectives to determine if a house fire was set intentionally. The fire, at 1367 Reservoir Ave., which started at 2:30 a.m. Sunday, was on the outside of the building when crews arrived but threatening to spread inside the home, said Deputy Chief Ron Rolfe said. Authorities are investigating a suspicious full first-alarm house fire early Sunday morning in Bridgeport that may have been intentionally set.
