Man Accused Of Trying To Cash Forged Checks At Bank In Wilton
A 48-year-old man was captured after a months-long investigation into identity theft and larceny at a Fairfield County bank.
James Greco, of Wynantskill, New York, located in Rensselaer County, was charged on Tuesday, Nov. 21 on a warrant for the July incident at a Wilton bank.
According to Lt. Anna Tornello, of the Wilton Police, Greco entered the bank and forged checks in the victim’s name, and then deposited the cash into other accounts.

When it comes to the healthiest locales in the United States, several counties in Connecticut are faring quite well, according to a new ranking by U.S. News & World Report.
The outlet analyzed nearly 3,000 US counties on metrics it said shape and show the health of a community, like public safety, access to healthcare, educational equity, income, housing affordability, food availability, and nutrition.
Analysts then used that data to rank the 500 healthiest communities in the country across 10 categories on a scale of zero to 100.

Fairfield County Ranks As 'Undervalued' For Home Prices, New Report Says
Homes in some regions in Connecticut are being considered “undervalued” amid the current housing bubble, according to a new Fortune Magazine report.
Fortune studied home price growth, which is wildly outpacing income growth across the country, with areas in Connecticut considered “overvalued" or “undervalued.”
Specifically, in Fairfield County, Bridgeport, Stamford, and Norwalk were considered undervalued.
Also undervalued for housing are Hartford, East Hartford, and Middletown, the report said.

A 17-year-old who was stabbed to death in front of a Connecticut home was a talented football and lacrosse player.
Fairfield County resident James "Jimmy" McGrath, of Shelton, is being remembered as a "beloved" student-athlete at Fairfield College Preparatory School who was a disciplined, determined, and aggressive multi-sport athlete.
McGrath, a junior who played both football and lacrosse at Fairfield Prep, was killed around 11:50 p.m., in Shelton on Saturday, May 14 during a fight in front of the residence where three additional people were also stabbed, Shelton Police said.

Man Accused Of Threatening To Shoot Fairfield County Restaurant Employee In Face
A man has been apprehended after he threatened to shoot a restaurant employee in Fairfield County in the face, police said.
Orlando Torres, age 55, of the Town of Fairfield, was arrested on Thursday, Oct. 7, after police were called to the Southport Diner for reported harassing phone calls.
According to Lt. Eddie Weihe, of the Fairfield Police, Torres had been calling and harassing the employees at the restaurant located at 3350 Post Road.
When a female employee told Torres to stop calling, he threatened to “come down and shoot her in the face,” police said.

President-elect Joe Biden handily won Connecticut’s nine electoral college votes over President Donald Trump, though some Fairfield County communities swung red.
With election results now certified by the Electoral College, Biden officially received 1,080,680 votes in Connecticut to Trump’s 715,291, with all but three towns in Fairfield County voting for the challenger over the incumbent.
