School officials announced that more than 30 members of the staff at a Connecticut elementary school tested positive for COVID-19. Enfield Public Schools Superintendent Christopher Drezek said in a message on the Henry Barnard School website that the Hartford County school was "hit with a wave" of confirmed cases among staff members on the morning of Monday, May 2. CT Schools Schedule Early Dismissals Due To Extreme Heat
Some schools in Connecticut will be letting students out of class early on Monday afternoon as the state contends with the first heatwave of the summer. Schools announced schedule changes for Monday, June 7, as the heat index is expected to top 100 degrees with the school year winding down. Students have also been advised to wear light, loose-fitting clothes to help combat the rising temperatures. Suspect At Large In Stabbing Death Of 16-Year-Old, State Police Say
Police are on the hunt for a "person of interest" involved in the overnight murder of a 16-year-old boy. Enfield detectives, along with the Connecticut State Police Major Crimes Unit, are investigating the stabbing death of Justin Brady, police said. A student at Enfield High School, the teen was stabbed at an Enfield home at 15 Hoover Lane. Police have released little information except to say they are investigating the event.
