Covid-19: First Death From UK 'Super Spreader' Strain Confirmed In Connecticut Health officials in Connecticut have confirmed the first reported death from the so-called "super spreader" COVID-19 variant that came out of the United Kingdom. Connecticut Gov. Ned Lamont’s office reported on Monday, March 8 the Department of Health has now seen a total of 81 confirmed cases of the B.1.1.7 variant, more commonly known as the UK strain. The latest data comes as 15 new cases of the variant were confirmed in Connecticut.
