Police in Connecticut have arrested a man who they say struck a high school sophomore on his bicycle, carrying him on top of his car for four miles, before shoving him off into the roadway.
The boy, identified in a GoFundMe campaign as Avon High School soccer player Liam Shields, was left "fighting for his life," friends of his family said. The campaign, which had raised more than $48,000 as of press time said Liam was "fighting for his life."

Man Nabbed For Driving Drunk, Wrong Way In Darien, Police Say
A man from Massachusetts was arrested for driving his truck the wrong way down a Connecticut road in an apparent drunk driving incident, police reported.
It happened on Sunday, July 23 on Boston Post Road (Route 1) in Darien, according to Darien police.
At approximately 2:15 a.m., police arrived at Post Road on reports that an intoxicated man was driving a white pickup truck in the wrong lane.
When they arrived at the scene, they located Byron Lopez-Najera, age 37, driving slowly around the parking lot of the Mini Cooper dealership on Post Road.

500 Gallons Of Cooking Oil Stolen From Restaurant: Westchester Duo Nabbed In CT, Police Say
Two New York men have been arrested for allegedly stealing more than 500 gallons of used cooking oil at a Connecticut restaurant.
The men, both from Westchester County, were stopped in Litchfield County in Harwinton around 5:45 a.m., Thursday, Jan. 12.
According to Connecticut State Police, the duo, identified as Yonkers residents Jeyson Santiago, age 25, and Isaac Then, age 25, were stopped after troopers received a 911 call regarding a suspicious vehicle parked near a restaurant in Harwinton.

A 33-year-old New York man wanted on a warrant was arrested in Fairfield County for alleged possession of drugs and numerous other charges.
Westchester County resident William Porras, of Port Chester, was around 1:30 a.m., Wednesday, April 14, by Greenwich Police after officers checked on a vehicle that was parked with its headlights and interior lights on, said Greenwich Police Captain Mark E. Zuccerella.

Tremaine Fraiser, age 24, of New Rochelle, was arrested on Saturday, March 27, by Greenwich Police after being stopped for not having a proper license plate.

A Fairfield County man was arrested for allegedly providing a false name when he was pulled over for a traffic violation and for resisting arrest.
Thomas Willoughby, age 54, of Norwalk, was arrested on Monday, March 29, by New Canaan Police on a warrant for the incident which took place in September, said Lieutenant Jason Ferraro of the New Canaan Police.
According to Ferraro, during the September stop, Willoughby allegedly provided officers with a false name, was driving with expired registration, did not have a driver's license, and was driving without insurance.

Two men from New York City were arrested in Fairfield County after they were allegedly seen carrying two duffel bags filled with stolen merchandise from a CVS store.
The two men, Isaiah Jordan Graham, 18, and Ahmed Diamasy Sawadogo, 18, were arrested on Wednesday, Jan. 6, after they were nabbed by Greenwich Police, said Captain Mark E. Zuccerella.

Drunk Man Without License Runs Stop Sign In Greenwich, Police Say
A Westchester man was arrested after allegedly running a stop sign in Greenwich while driving drunk and without a license.
Jose Sanchez-Hernandez, 30, of West Harrison, was arrested on Sunday, Dec. 1, after a Greenwich police officer observed a black Chevrolet Traverse drive south onto Frontage Road from I-95 without for a stop sign, said Greenwich Police.
Once stopped, officers found Sanchez-Herandez with glassy, red eyes and smelled the odor of alcohol coming from inside the vehicle.
Sanchez-Hernandez was asked to participate in a field sobriety test which he failed, police said.

A Fairfield County man was arrested after allegedly crashing his vehicle while driving drunk.
Roberto Colon Leyva, 33, of Bridgeport, was arrested by Greenwich Police on Friday, Nov. 1, after police responded to a report of a crash, said Greenwich Police Lt. John Slusarz.
When police arrived on the scene of the crash at 124 W. Ritch Ave., they found Leyva had bloodshot, glassy eyes, slurred speech, and smelled of alcohol, Slusarz said.
After admitting to drinking, Leyva was asked to perform the field sobriety tests, which he failed, police said.

Police Find Danbury Man Unconscious In His Vehicle At Intersection In Newtown
A Fairfield County man was arrested after police found him unconscious in his vehicle at an intersection.
Richard Timms, 43, of Danbury, was found around 6 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 10, by Newtown Police officers in the area of Glenmore Drive and Dylan Drive, said the Newtown Police.
Following an investigation, Timms was found to be in possession of narcotics and did not have a valid driver's license, police said.
He was charged with possession of narcotics, DUI/drugs, and driving without a license.
Timms was released on a $1,000 bond.
