7 Smoke Shops Busted For Underage Sales To Minors In Danbury
A series of unannounced compliance checks has landed several Fairfield County smoke shops in hot water for selling e-cigarettes and vaping products to minors, police said. Seven smoke shops in Danbury were busted for selling e-cigarettes and tobacco products to customers under 21 after a total of 15 unannounced compliance checks were conducted by authorities on Tuesday, June 13, according to Danbury Police. State’s Severe Cold Weather Protocol Activated As Frigid Temps Near
With temperatures expected to plummet, shelters and warming centers are being opened up in Connecticut. Gov. Ned Lamont announced on Thursday, Feb. 13 that with temperatures anticipated to potentially reach single digits, the state has activated its Severe Cold Weather Protocol. Undercover Tobacco Check Nets Five Violations In Stratford
Five Stratford businesses were fined after allegedly selling tobacco products to an underage decoy during an enforcement check. The enforcement on Wednesday, May 1, was conducted by the Stratford Police, along with members from the state Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services and the Tobacco Prevention and Enforcement Program, said Stratford Police Capt. Four Women Nabbed In $35K Fairfield County Substance Abuse Kickback Scheme
Four women were arrested by Connecticut State Police for taking part in a Fairfield County substance abuse kickback scheme that netted them $35K. An investigation into the scheme began in November 2017 after the state police Major Crime Squad received information of the suspected misuse of state funds within a substance abuse treatment program called Access to Recovery, state police said.
