The positive COVID-19 infection rate in Connecticut has ballooned to nearly 6 percent, the highest rate in months as the winter wave of new cases continues.
In his latest update, Connecticut Gov. Ned Lamont said that the daily positive COVID-19 infection rate rose to 5.96 percent, the highest in 10 months, up from the 5.25 percent the previous day.
In total, there were 15,224 COVID-19 tests administered on Monday, Nov. 29, resulting in 907 laboratory-confirmed cases of the virus for the elevated positive infection rate.

More than a dozen new COVID-19-related deaths were reported in Connecticut over the weekend as the overall positive infection rate hovered around 3 percent after spiking last week.
Between Friday, April 9, and Monday, April 12, there were 98,891 COVID-19 tests administered, resulting in a total of 2,985 laboratory-confirmed new infections for a 3.02 percent positive infection rate.
Over that stretch, an additional 13 new COVID-19 fatalities were reported as the death toll rose to 7,957 since the pandemic began last year.

The positive COVID-19 rate in Connecticut increased over the weekend, as the state saw nearly two dozen new virus-related deaths reported.
There were 91,407 COVID-19 tests administered in Connecticut between Friday, March 26, and Sunday, March 28, resulting in 3,229 laboratory-confirmed cases for a 3.53 percent infection rate.
