Body Found In Vehicle, CT State Police Say Connecticut State Police are investigating a suspicious incident after a person was found dead inside a vehicle in a wooded area. The body was discovered in Tolland County in the town of Somers late Thursday, Aug. 5 on Durkee Road. Somers is located upstate, on the Massachusetts border with Connecticut. Person Found Dead Inside Burning Car One person is dead after being found in a burning vehicle in Connecticut. The incident took place 8 a.m., Wednesday, July 21, in New Haven County, at 144 Spring Brook Road in Waterbury. The fire was extinguished and one person was located dead inside the vehicle, said Waterbury PD Sgt. Robert Davis. "We have no information on how this car fire started or any identification on the deceased party inside the vehicle," he added. The man was found on Sunday, May 16 when a person called the Bridgeport Police Department to report they had "come across" a body in the outside stairwell of Bassick High School in Bridgeport, said Scott Appleby, director of Emergency Management. CT Woman Found Dead In Driveway, Police Say Police are investigating after a Connecticut woman was found dead in her driveway. The middle-aged woman was found around 6:40 a.m., Thursday, May 7 in Hartford County on Wallace Street in Enfield, said Enfield Police Chief Alaric Fox. Fox said the department is investigating the circumstances surrounding her death, but that it was too early to speculate.  Police have issued a notice to neighbors in the area to expect police activity during the day as investigators work the case.  This is a developing story. Fairfield County Man Found Dead Inside Mercedes Van Parked Behind Pennsylvania Hotel A 51-year-old Connecticut man was found dead inside of a van parked behind a hotel, authorities said. Police in Delaware County, Pennsylvania were called to the Best Western on Providence Avenue in Chester on Tuesday, April 20 where a member of the military found the body in a Mercedes van parked in a spot reserved for military personnel, Chester City Police Captain James Chubb said. The man was later identified as John Melia, of Stamford, Chubb said. No foul play was suspected, and Melia's body was recovered by the Delaware County Medical Examiner’s Office for an autopsy.
