Alert Issued After Coyotes Kill One Dog, Attack Another In New Canaan Police are warning residents after separate incidents in which coyotes killed one dog and attacked another in New Canaan. Both incidents occurred in the southwest area of town, police said. The most recent attack occurred Thursday, Aug. 22 at around 7 a.m.  An Adams Lane resident attempted to chase down two large coyotes when one of the coyotes grabbed, killed and ran off with a 13-pound chihuahua mix.
