Pleasure Beach Reopens After Tick Treatments, Bridgeport Officials Say After an outbreak of ticks, one of Fairfield County's favorite beaches will reopen this weekend. Rabies Warning Issued After Bat Found In Fairfield County Home Tests Positive Officials are warning residents to be on the lookout for suspicious behavior from any bats they encounter after a bat found in a Fairfield County home tested positive for rabies. The City of Bridgeport and Animal Control has been notified that a bat in a residence of the Brooklawn area has tested positive for rabies. As a result, animal control officials are warning residents to proceed with caution when coming in contact with stray and wild animals, especially bats.
