Man Faces DUI Charge After BMW Swerves Toward Patrol Cruiser, Wilton PD Say A 33-year-old man has been charged with DUI after his BMW swerved toward a patrol cruiser, police say. Wilton Police say they observed the driver of a BMW sedan traveling southbound swerve partially into another lane on Sunday, Aug. 4 around 9:30 p.m. When initiating a traffic stop, police say the driver, identified as Christian Schoellauf of New Haven, swerved into the officer's lane again. During questioning, police say they detected an alcoholic odor coming from the vehicle. Route 7 Stop Of Swerving BMW Leads To DUI Charge For 33-Year-Old Man, Police Say A 33-year-old man was busted for DUI after being stopped by Wilton Police after he was spotted for swerving in his BMW. Christian Schoellauf, of New Haven, was stopped around 9:30 p.m., Sunday, Aug. 4, while driving a 2013 335xi BMW southbound on Danbury Road (Route 7) after an officer saw him swerve into the oncoming lane at least three times, said the Wilton Police Department. When stopped, the officer allegedly smelled an odor of alcohol coming from the vehicle.
