A Fairfield County high school is conducting an investigation and has hired an attorney after a complaint was made against a staff member. As Fairfield County continues recovery efforts following Tuesday storm, what authorities described as a “near-tragic” incident involving carbon monoxide poisoning occurred when a family ran a generator inside a Brookfield home. A 16-year-old Brookfield High School student has been arrested for posting a threat on social media posing with a gun and saying something might happen at the school. Police responded to the school Wednesday after three students notified administrators of the post from the night before that had concerned them, said Brookfield Police Capt. Peter Frengs. The family of a 21-year-old Manhattanville College student scolded the drunk driver who struck and killed their son in court at her sentencing on Wednesday. Rye resident Emma Fox, 26, was sentenced for her role as the driver in a fatal crash that took the life of Fishkill resident Robby Schartner, who graduated from Brookfield High School and formerly lived in Putnam County, in Garrison.
