Bridgeport Budget Chief Charged With DUI After Hitting Tree, Failing Sobriety Tests
A city official has been charged with allegedly driving under the influence after hitting a tree in Fairfield County.
Bridgeport Budget Chief Nestor Nkwo was arrested around 8 p.m., Friday, March 29, after officers responded to a report of a crash on Park Avenue.
According to an arrest report prepared by Bridgeport Police Officer Ryan Wilson, when he first interacted with Nkwo, who serves as the director of Bridgeport's Office of Police and Management, he talked and acted "normally."

Bridgeport Man Charged After 4-Hour Crime Spree Robbing Multiple Women, Sexually Assaulting 1
A Fairfield County man has been charged after allegedly attacking and robbing multiple women over four hours.
Cecil Mills, age 35, of Bridgeport, was arrested around 11:30 a.m., on Saturday, Feb. 24 after a vehicle pursuit, crash, and foot chase that ended near the intersection of North Avenue and Madison Avenue.
According to Det. Detective Jeffrey Holtz of the Bridgeport Police, the victims all report being followed by what turned out to be a stolen Toyota Camry, before being robbed and assaulted.

Duo Beats, Robs 75-Year-Old In His Bridgeport Backyard, Police Say
Two men are accused of beating and robbing a 75-year-old man outside his Fairfield County home.
The incident happened Thursday, Nov. 16, in Bridgeport at a home on East Main Street, according to Bridgeport Police.
Both men approached the victim with their hands in their pockets, motioning that they had a gun, police said.
They allegedly punched the victim and pushed him against a dumpster before stealing his wallet.
The victim suffered a minor head injury in the ordeal.

Missing: Silver Alert Issued For 4-Year-Old Bridgeport Girl
A Silver Alert has been issued for a missing Fairfield County girl who has not been seen by her father for more than a year.
The alert was issued in Bridgeport on Monday, Aug. 28 for Aliyah Serrano who was reported missing by her biological father, said Capt. Kevin Gilleran of the Bridgeport Police.
Gilleran said it is reported that the biological father was given full custody of Aliyah Serrano in July.
According to the father, he has had no physical contact with the girl or her mother, 33-year-old Valery Colon, of New Haven, Connecticut, since Monday, Feb. 28, 2022, Gilleran said.

Bridgeport Murder Suspect Nabbed In Georgia, Police Say
A Bridgeport man wanted since 2020 for allegedly killing another man was nabbed down south.
On Monday, July 10, detectives from the Bridgeport Police Homicide Squad confirmed with law enforcement officers in Fulton County, Georgia that they had in their custody 58-year-old Anthony Marion of Bridgeport, said Capt. Kevin Gilleran of the Bridgeport Police.
Marion was wanted for the Thursday, Dec. 3, 2020, stabbing assault of Gregory Williams that resulted in his death on Monday, Oct. 10, 2022, Gilleran said.
