Egg Thefts Crack On As Police Scramble For Clues
Thieves in Seattle made off with more than 500 eggs earlier this month, just days before a massive heist in Pennsylvania, where 100,000 organic eggs were stolen from a distribution site, authorities said.
In Seattle, two suspects were caught on camera stealing 540 eggs and other breakfast supplies from a restaurant’s refrigerated storage shed on Feb. 5. Just four days earlier, thieves targeted a much larger haul in Franklin County, PA, stealing $40,000 worth of organic eggs from Pete and Gerry's Organics, Pennsylvania State Police announced on Tuesday, Feb. 4.

CT's Beardsley Zoo Confirms Avian Flu Case, Euthanizes Birds to Prevent Spread
A deadly strain of avian flu has been detected at Connecticut’s Beardsley Zoo, forcing officials to euthanize birds and shut down exhibits in an effort to stop the spread.
The virus, known as Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza, was confirmed in a deceased Cotton Patch goose found on zoo grounds. In response, the zoo has ramped up safety measures to protect animals, staff, and visitors, working with state and federal agencies, including the U.S. Department of Agriculture and the Association of Zoos and Aquariums, officials said.
