Law Firm Founder Killed In Gore Mountain Skiing Accident Colleagues and loved ones are mourning the loss of a prominent attorney and businessman following his untimely death in a skiing accident in the Adirondacks. Kevin Colwell, founder and CEO of the Albany-based Colwell Law Group, died at the Gore Mountain ski resort on Saturday, Feb. 8, the firm said in a statement. He was 53. “This tragic loss has deeply impacted all members of the organization.” Colwell was found severely injured by bystanders and ski patrol staff near the Sagamore Trail around 11 a.m. Saturday, New York State Police said. Ken was born on September 27, 1939 in Bayonne, NJ, youngest of 4 brothers born to Eugene and Cecilia (Paulson) McGahren. He graduated from Pratt Institute in New York City in 1968 and was registered to practice in New York and Connecticut. New Milford Native Joshua Westlake, Arborist, Gifted Sportsman, Dies Unexpectedly At 38 An arborist and "gifted" sportsman, lifelong New Milford resident, Joshua David Westlake, died unexpectedly on Wednesday,  Aug. 14, at age 38. Westlake died at his home in New Haven. He was born in New Milford on June 7, 1981. He graduated from New Milford High School in 2000. He began his lifelong career as an arborist while working with and learning from his dad at Candlewood Tree Care Co. in 1998.
