Muharem has accepted a position as principal of Long River Middle School in Prospect, Conn., according to The News-Times.
He was principal of Bethel Middle School for four years and worked for Bethel Public Schools for 19 years, The News-Times said.
He started in Bethel as a physical education teacher. In 2002, he became the district’s coordinator of physical education and health, The News-Times said.
Muharem became assistant principal at the middle school in 2006 and took on the role of principal in 2012 after Kevin Smith became the superintendent of schools, The News-Times said.
