The case began Wednesday when Monroe police pulled over Shaquan Moore, 32, for speeding on Main Street, according to the Monroe Courier. Moore gave officers his license, but then drove off at a high rate of speed while throwing small plastic bags out his car window, according to the Monroe Courier.
Monroe police called off the pursuit, but collected about 7 ounces of pot along the road, according to the Courier.
Newtown police said they later arrested Moore at Washington Avenue and Riverside Drive in Newtown, where he was stuck in traffic.
Moore was arrested and charged with operation of a motor vehicle with a suspended license and possession of a controlled substance at 1:30 p.m., police said.
Moore was then transferred to the Monroe Police Department, where he was charged with possession of more than 4 ounces of marijuana, possession of narcotics with intent to sell, reckless driving, engaging police in a pursuit, driving with a suspended license and traveling unreasonably fast, according to the Monroe Courier.
He posted $5,000 bond in Newtown and $15,000 bond in Monroe.
