Police ID Suspect After Stolen Car Left Abandoned In Newtown

A man who was wanted for dropping a stolen car in Newtown has been tentatively identified by police.

Newtown Police found the vehicle abandoned Monday in the area of Pole Bridge Road, said Newtown Police on Facebook.

An investigation found that a younger Hispanic man was seen leaving the vehicle which had been stolen from Danbury.

After discovering the vehicle, police sent out a Code Red alert to residents, warning them of the event, and in hopes of receiving information from any witnesses to the event.

On Tuesday, Newtown Police announced they had identified a suspect and were in the process of locating the man in order to make an arrest.
