Robert Lingl, 57, and his daughter, 21-year old Bethany, were arrested in Florida and Newtown respectively on multiple charges after police discovered the pair had stolen materials and packaging from SMT on High Bridge Road, where both were employees.
The arrests were the culmination of an investigation that began in January, and estimates put the value of the merchandise at tens of thousands of dollars.
Robert Lingl was charged with four counts of third and first-degree larceny, conspiracy to commit larceny and third -degree criminal attempt to commit larceny, while Bethany Lingl was charged with first-degree larceny, conspiracy to commit larceny and third -degree criminal attempt to commit larceny.
Bethany Lingl was held on $15,000 bond, while Robert Lingl was released on $50,000 bond and will answer to charges on Aug. 11 in Danbury Court.
