The request for proposals are for design and structural services and for a construction manager to oversee the project once it gets to the construction phase. Bid openings for the project will take place on Tuesday, March 8.
Bethel residents voted 1,831-1,078 in favor of funding the project in December. The plan calls for spending $13.5 million to build the police station on town-owned land at Judd Avenue and Route 302 south of Bethel High School. The 26,000-square-foot facility, is more than twice as large as the existing police station.
Funding for the project is to come from bonds. The existing police station on Plumtrees Road was built in 1974.
