Officers from the Newtown Police Department rescued a deer that found itself in a precarious position this week.
On Monday, July 30, Officer Timothy Schoen was called to a local property, where there was a report of a “deer in distress.” The deer had caught one of its hind legs tangled in a fence and couldn’t get loose.
Schoen, without formal training of helping animals out of fences, with an assist from a fellow officer, was able to free the deer from his troubling spot and it went on to run off in the woods without further incident. (See video above.)
The deer was not harmed in this video.
