The sunny day turned cold and wet, but that didn't dampen the spirits of participants.
Shoppers were given a map of the area, with a goal of visiting each local shop and getting that passport stamped. Once all the stamps were collected, shoppers headed back to the starting table to collect a prize for a job well done.
This event promotes the many businesses and stores throughout town.
"It was nice to see all the shops open and see the community come together," Anne Charoky said of the event.
One of the popular sights at the event was that of the Newtown-Strong Therapy Dogs spotted roaming along the sidewalks with their caretakers. Many of the dogs were in Halloween costumes — including one dressed as a bumblebee that stood out the most.
"It was so cute to see the doggy dressed as a bee," said Joshua Miller.
Many activities were offered throughout the event, including games, prizes, food, music, family fun, discounts, samples, and more. The food pantry was also open for residents to drop off donations to help those in need.
Chaz from the Chaz and AJ Show on 99.1-FM WPLR was also on-hand, offering games and playing music for entertainment. Unclaimed Baggage was one of the bands playing live music on the sidewalk.
