According to the Bethel Bulletin, Christopher Carreras-McLaughlin, 7, was taken to Danbury Hospital on Oct. 7 after he complained of a headache then began vomiting and became unresponsive.

Christopher underwent emergency brain surgery for an arteriovenous malformation (AVM). The AVM burst and filled his brain with blood, and the subsequent pressure swelled the brain. Surgeons removed a piece of his skull to relieve the swelling.

His family started a page on GoFundMe to raise money for hospital bills. To donate, visit www.gofundme.com/vd67w9us.
