Newtown Holding Fundraiser For Paralyzed Army Ranger

NEWTOWN, Conn., -- Ricci’s Salon & Spa of Newtown is holding a Cut-a-Thon on Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in aid of an Army Ranger.

It's a fundraiser for a 22 year-old Army Ranger from West Haven, Sean Pesce, who returned from Afghanistan with life-altering injuries to receive a custom handicap house through Homes For Our Troops. Homes For Our Troops is a national nonprofit which builds handicap houses for young disabled military, at no cost to the solider.

SPC Pesce was shot 13 times, sustaining damage to several major organs, with one bullet severing his spine. Pesce is now permanently paralyzed from the waist-down.

All hairstylists are donating their time for free to help raise money for Sean Pesce’s house to be built in West Haven. Men’s Barber haircuts - $20, women’s haircut & blow-dry- $25, women who are don’t need a cut but want to donate, can get their hair blow-dried - $15
