In 2000, Matta, owner of John Fulton Jewelers, moved to a spot in downtown Bethel. After 15 years in that same location, Matta decided he needed more space.
He expanded and moved his business to a more visible and accessible location to continue his craft. On Nov. 28, he held the official grand reopening at the new location at 130 Greenwood Ave.
“With Matta’s charismatic personality and attention to detail, he takes time with people as everyone is special to him,” says Hilary Creighton, an employee at the jewelry store.
With the move, Matta has more room in his store to create his pieces of jewelry.
“People trust John, and that is why much of our traffic is repeat business,” Creighton added.
The store offers a unique range of bridal jewelry, many features of diamond designs, gemstones, original creations, special occasions, and Citizens watches. The store also believes in combining the best of old and new, offering a full repair and appraisal service, which is done on premises.
“John has always had a high-quality product and a business that people are willing to travel for,” Bobbi Jo Beers, executive director of the Bethel Chamber of Commerce, told the News-Times. “It’s certainly become a destination and the store helps all the other businesses around it. I’m just glad that when they were looking for a new space, they decided to stay in Bethel.”
