The high pressure system that hung over the area this weekend is expected to slide off to the east, bringing clouds and lower temperatures, said AccuWeather meteorologist Brian Edwards. Monday is expected to be dry in the morning, with some light rain in the afternoon. Showers and cool temperatures are expected to persist into the night. The high will be about 58.
Tuesday will see similar weather, with temperatures in the mid-50s. There will be a lot of clouds and some drizzling. "It won't be heavy rain, but it will still be a bit of a nuisance," Edwards said.
Starting Wednesday Fairfield County should start to see some more sun, Edwards said. The temperature will be in the low 60s. The high pressure system will roll back into the area as the week continues, bringing sunshine Thursday and Friday with temperatures rising into the upper 60s. By Saturday the temperature will be up around 70 degrees.
