There was gridlock on a stretch of the Merritt Parkway during the Friday evening commute following a crash that blocked the right lane for nearly an hour on the southbound side.
The incident occurred between Exit 38 (Route 123/New Canaan Avenue) and Exit 37 (Route 124) with stopped traffic at the scene and gridlock to Exit 41(Route 33) before the lane reopened at about 6 p.m.
