CT High School Football Player Dies Unexpectedly A 15-year-old Connecticut high school sophomore football player died unexpectedly, days before his team was to play in the Class LL championship game. Christopher Fidalgo-Pugh, of West Haven, died at the Yale New Haven Children's Hospital on Tuesday, Dec. 5, reported ABC affiliate WTNH News 8.   A cause of death has not been revealed. New Haven Police received a 911 call on Saturday, Aug. 8, around 12:40 p.m. about an “unresponsive” child, police said. Zachary Stein, 24, of New Canaan, originally charged with reckless endangerment and risk of injury, will have a clean record once he completes the program in 2020, officials said.
