Man Dies After Crashing Car, Attempting To Swim Across Pond In Tolland County A Connecticut man who crashed his Chevy Malibu and then attempted to swim across a pond to get away died in the water.  The incident occurred in Tolland County around 10 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 6, in Vernon. Vernon Police Lt. Robert Marra said officers responded to the crash on Snipsic Street and East Main Street.  When they arrived, Marra said they found the unoccupied Malibu with significant front-end damage. Officers began to search for the driver. CT Man, 25, Killed In Hit-Run Crash Identified Police have released the identity of a 25-year-old Connecticut man killed in a hit-and-run motorcycle crash. Tolland County resident James Faulkner, of Vernon, was killed on Tuesday, Feb. 27 during a crash with a 2018 Infiniti Q50 on Prospect Street in Vernon. According to Lt. Robert Marra of the Vernon Police, the driver of the Infiniti fled the scene after hitting Vaulkner's motorcycle. Alert Issued For Missing Man In CT Authorities are asking for the public's help in finding a missing man in Connecticut.  Justin Shvetz, age 40, was last seen in the Tolland County town of Vernon in the area of Old Town Road, Vernon Police announced on Tuesday, Feb. 13 around 2:15 p.m. Shvetz is described as 5-foot-6 and 135 pounds, police said. Man, Woman Found Dead At Home In Residential CT Neighborhood Police are investigating after a man and a woman were found dead inside a quiet residential neighborhood in Connecticut. The two were found in Hartford County around 5:45 p.m., Friday, Oct. 28 in Vernon. According to Lt. Robert Marra, of the Vernon Police Department, officers responded to the home at 21 Vinetta Drive for a report of two "untimely deaths." Upon the officers' arrival, they located a man and a woman who had died from gunshot wounds, Marra said. Connecticut Man Sentenced For Producing Child Pornography A 52-year-old Connecticut man was sentenced to decades in prison for producing child pornography. Ronald Daniel, of Hartford, was sentenced on Monday, May 2, to 27 years in prison followed by 10 years of supervised release, according to Leonard Boyle, United States attorney for the District of Connecticut. El Salvadoran Admits To Reentering US After Being Deported An El Salvadoran national is facing prison time after admitting to illegally reentering the country three times following his arrest for impaired driving when he crashed into a police cruiser in Connecticut. Alfredo Dagoberto Hercules-Santos, 40, has pleaded guilty in Bridgeport district court to one count of reentry of a removed alien. Hercules-Santos is a citizen of El Salvador who had been living in New Britain before his latest arrest.
