Fairfield County Man Nabbed For DUI Following Crash, Police Say A Fairfield County man has been charged with alleged driving while under the influence after crashing his vehicle and landing on top of a rock wall. Charles Bazelais, age 26, of Stamford, was arrested on a warrant on Friday, Sept. 24 by Darien Police for the incident which took place in May. Stamford Motorist Charged With DUI After Nearly Striking Greenwich PD Cruiser, Police Say A Stamford motorist is facing DUI charges after he almost crashed into a Greenwich police cruiser, authorities say. Officers were on patrol in the area of East Putnam Avenue on Saturday, Feb. 16 around 11:30 p.m. when they observed a vehicle traveling eastbound. The vehicle allegedly crossed over the double yellow line and drifted into the westbound lane, forcing an officer to swerve in order to avoid being hit.
