New Confirmations Bring Number Of Tornadoes In NY/CT During Storm To Six A total of six tornadoes have now been confirmed in New York and Connecticut after the severe round of storms that moved quickly through the region from west to east on Saturday afternoon, Nov. 13. Three were on Long Island and the other three were in Connecticut. Five were rated as EF-0 twisters (the weakest of the six levels on the Enhanced Fujita Scale), due to its wind speed. One Killed In Tractor-Trailer Crash On I-91 A 41-year-old man was the victim of a fatal single-vehicle crash after losing control of a tractor-trailer on I-91. Ashley L. Bennett, of Uniondale on Long Island was killed around 4:43 a.m. Friday near Exit 14 in Wallingford, said the Connecticut State Police. According to the police report, Bennett was traveling northbound on I-91 in the right lane when he swerved off the right shoulder and down the grassy embankment.
