Shark Attack Update: Details Emerge On Darien Woman Who Lost Part Of Leg In Caribbean New details have emerged days after a young Connecticut woman lost part of her leg when she was attacked by a shark in the Caribbean. The 22-year-old was snorkeling near a resort around 3 p.m., Wednesday, May 24 in the Turks and Caicos Islands when the rare attack happened, authorities said. The Turks and Caicos Islands Police Department told Daily Voice it did not know what type of shark was involved in the incident.
