Woman Nabbed For Stealing, Cashing MoneyGram In Westport, Police Say
A Fairfield County woman has been charged with alleged larceny after cashing a lost MoneyGram while using her name and address.
Valentina Dimitia-Coatanroch, age 51, of Stratford, was arrested by Westport Police on Sunday, Jan. 21.
According to Lt. Eric Woods of the Westport Police, on Friday, March 6, 2020, Westport Police initiated a larceny investigation after a resident reported they had lost a MoneyGram they had purchased in the amount of $550.00.

Duo Beats, Robs 75-Year-Old In His Bridgeport Backyard, Police Say
Two men are accused of beating and robbing a 75-year-old man outside his Fairfield County home.
The incident happened Thursday, Nov. 16, in Bridgeport at a home on East Main Street, according to Bridgeport Police.
Both men approached the victim with their hands in their pockets, motioning that they had a gun, police said.
They allegedly punched the victim and pushed him against a dumpster before stealing his wallet.
The victim suffered a minor head injury in the ordeal.

Man, Woman Threaten Each Other With Machetes During Dispute Over Car In Bridgeport, Police Say
A man and woman involved in a neighbor dispute in Fairfield County ended up threatening each other with machetes as the fight escalated.
The incident took place in Bridgeport on Sunday, Sept. 17 on the 200 block of Willow Street.
On-scene witness reports indicated the dispute was about a vehicle blocking a driveway and a verbal altercation between Clive Samuels, age 46, of Stratford, and Christine Medley, age 47, of New Haven, said Scott Appleby, director of Bridgeport's Emergency Management.

Drunk Driver From Fairfield County Busted With LSD During Traffic Stop, Police Say
A 36-year-old man is facing driving while intoxicated charges after allegedly being caught drunk behind the wheel with illegal drugs in the car, police said.
The upstate New York incident happened Thursday evening, Aug. 31, in Warren County, on Route 9 in Lake George, according to state police.
Connecticut resident Andrew Tustian, of Stratford, was stopped for multiple vehicle and traffic law violations before troopers determined he was intoxicated, police said.
