Here's How Many Crashes Have Been Reported On CT Roadways During July 4th Holiday Over the two-day Fourth of July time period so far, Connecticut State Police say troopers have responded to a total of 79 motor vehicle crashes, with one serious injury. Since the holiday enforcement got underway on Wednesday, July 3, at 7 p.m., state police responded to 2,642 calls for service, including the 79 for crashes, which, fortunately, none resulted in fatalities. Other stops included helping 112 disabled motor vehicles 23 arrests for driving under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol.
