Here's Where State Police Will Be Stepping Up Holiday Patrols In Area The holiday season is here, and so are extra patrols for Connecticut State Police troopers. Beginning at 12:01 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 27, and running through Sunday, Dec. 1, there will be an increased state police presence on the state's busiest roadways and travel outlets. ID Released For Woman Struck, Killed By Truck In Hit-Run Route 8/25 Crash State police have released the identity of a Bridgeport woman who was struck and killed by a hit-and-run dump truck driver as she attempted to cross Route 8/25.Maria Mendoza-Robles, 54, was struck and killed around 8 p.m. Thursday in the southbound lane near Exit 5 in Bridgeport, said the Connecticut State Police.  Troop G had received numerous 911 calls saying a woman was attempting to cross the highway right before the accident occurred, they added.
