Man Faces DUI, Other Charges After Low-Speed Chase In Fairfield County An intoxicated 56-year-old man led police on an inching chase, frequently stopping in the middle of the travel lane and motioning for pursuing officers, their lights flashing, to pass him, police said. Multiple Bear Sightings Reported In Fairfield County Bear sightings are on the rise in Fairfield County as the animals prepare for their pre-hibernation feeding frenzy with winter coming. Animal Control officials in Monroe reported that there were multiple sightings of presumably the same bear on Tuesday, Oct. 8, that had yellow ear tags on Route 111. The black bear was spotted multiple times in Monroe, last seen making its way toward the railroad bed in the direction of Route 34. Man, 24, Killed After Car Crashes Into Tree On Route 25 A 24-year-old man was killed in after his car crashed into a tree on Route 25 in Trumbull on Saturday. The crash, just south of Route 111, occurred around 3:30 p.m. when Brendan Murren of Trumbull lost control of his car while switching lanes, went up a small embankment and into a tree, police said.  Murren was pronounced dead at St. Vincent’s Hospital.
