Hundreds Without Power Following Rounds Of Severe Storms

As hundreds remained without power following severe storms that swept through the area late Tuesday afternoon and evening, a crash that initially blocked a lane causing gridlock on I-95 Wednesday morning. About 400 are without power in New Canaan as of 8 a.m. Wednesday, according to Eversource. The next-hardest hit municipality, Norwalk, now has just over 100 customers still in the dark. Mother Charged With Leaving 4-Year-Old In Hot Car In New Canaan
Police officers, responding to a call from a concerned person, found a 4-year-old girl alone in a car as temperatures climbed into the mid-80s at a popular shopping area off Route 106 in New Canaan. The officers were dispatched to the area of Morse Court Parking Lot after a person reported hearing a child's voice coming from the backseat of a vehicle at approximately 12:45 p.m. on Tuesday, June 19. Long-Term Traffic Alert Issued For Darien
Motorists planning on traveling through Darien can expect delays and detours as contracting crews from Eversource kick off a “significant natural gas expansion project.” The Darien Police Department issued an alert on Thursday, warning that beginning next week, several roadways are expected to see lane closures and motorists can expect delays in the area as the project begins, which is expected to last several months.
