Details Emerge After Man With Two Large Knives Is Shot By Danbury Officer Connecticut State Police are investigating the officer-involved shooting that took place between a Danbury police officer and a man armed with two large knives off a busy stretch of I-84 near the New York/Connecticut border. The incident began around 8:44 a.m., Wednesday, July 3, when Danbury Police were responding to a call of an assault at 38 Old Ridgebury Road, said Danbury Police Lt. Mark Williams. I-84 Ramp Reopens After Officer-Involved Shooting An exit ramp on I-84 near the New York/Connecticut border has reopened after an officer-involved shooting resulted in its closure. Danbury Police and State Police remain on scene at Old Ridgebury Road, Connecticut State Police following the incident that occurred before noontime on Wednesday, July 3. The Department of Transportation had shut down the Exit 2 ramp at Ridgebury Road. Road closures also affected traffic near Trader Joe's and Rosie Tomorrow's on Mill  Plain Road.
