Poll: Crime Numbers Down In Bridgeport, Do You Feel Safer? The Bridgeport Police Department has reported that overall crime statistics throughout Connecticut's most-populated city have been on a decline in comparison to this time last year.  The most notable statistical decrease can be found in shooting incidents throughout Bridgeport, said Mayor Joe Ganim.
