A Fairfield County woman became stuck in the raging river after she went in to save her dog and had to be rescued by police and fire personnel. The incident occurred in Trumbull around 10:15 a.m., Monday, Aug. 19, when her dog was swept away in the Pequonnock River. Trumbull Police rushed to the scene after receiving a 911 call that the Trumbull resident was on the phone with her friend when her dog went into the river and got swept away, the department said. Woman Dies After Being Pulled From River In Fairfield County
A woman whose body was pulled from a river in Fairfield County has died. The 41-year-old Bridgeport woman was found floating early Friday, July 23, in the area of the Pequonnock River in Trumbull between White Plains Road and Quarry Road, said police. The woman was discovered unresponsive in the water prior to being pulled from the river, said Trumbull Police Lieutenant Brian D. Weir. Body Found Floating In Ice, Water At Beardsley Park
A body was found floating in ice and water at Beardsley Park in Bridgeport. According to Bridgeport Police, the body was discovered in Bunnell's Pond around 11:20 a.m. Thursday by a passerby who saw the body floating in the partially frozen water. Temperatures were frigid as Bridgeport firefighters pulled the body from the water and police confirmed the individual was dead when recovered.
