Closure For Construction Scheduled On Busy Roadway In Darien
A busy roadway will be closed to through traffic in Fairfield County during construction. The closure on Old Kings Highway in Darien on the bridge over Stony Brook River will run from Tuesday, Aug. 15, through Sunday, Aug. 27. All residences will remain accessible throughout the construction period, the Darien Department of Public Works said. Emergency services will be able to reach all residences in the area. A Fairfield County woman said the person she bought a car from took care of the paperwork, but the car did not have the proper license or registration. Jennifer Monahan, of Stamford, was arrested around 7 p.m. on Tuesday, August 1 for driving a car without proper registration, insurance, or license on Old Kings Highway in Darien, according to the Darien Police Department. A 40-year-old woman is facing an identity theft charge after investigators reported that she used a credit card that was stolen from a vehicle in Fairfield County. Darien Police Department officers responded to Philadelphia on Tuesday, Aug. 30, to extradite Colleen Kane, who was being held on a fugitive from justice charge, the Darien Police Department said. A man was charged with larceny after he was found behind the wheel of an alleged stolen vehicle in Fairfield County. The incident took place in Darien around 1:40 a.m. on Friday, May 13. A hardened ex-con from Fairfield County admitted that he and a longtime criminal pal from Philadelphia stabbed a political consultant to death and then torched his New Jersey apartment in a murder-for-hire attack.
