New Felony Gun Law Takes Effect In Connecticut Several new laws took effect across Connecticut on Monday, Oct. 1. They include a ban on rapid-fire devices known as "bump stocks."   Connecticut Gov. Dannel P. Malloy proposed making the semiautomatic gun "enhancements' illegal after the deadly Las Vegas mass shooting that killed 58 people and injured hundreds of others one year ago at a country music concert, as reported here by Daily Voice. Malloy Calls For Ban On Bump Stocks In Connecticut Gov. Dannel Malloy's first proposal for the 2018 legislative session would ban the purchase and sale of bump stocks, binary triggers systems, and trigger cranks in Connecticut. “Bump stocks are cheap, they are deadly, and they have no place in our society,” Malloy said.
