Hawk With Fishing Hook Stuck In Wing Rescued At CT Pond Authorities rescued a hawk that was found at a Connecticut pond with a fishing hook stuck in its wing. Connecticut State Environmental Conservation Police responded to the pond in Mill Park in the Hartford County town of Newington to help a Cooper's hawk, officials reported on Sunday, July 31. Authorities waded into the water and cut a tree branch and a fishing lure off the wing of the hawk. The hawk was brought to Christine's Critters Inc. in Weston, and was scheduled for an appointment with a veterinarian to remove a fishing hook that was embedded in its wing. Shortly after 9:30 a.m. on Sunday, Feb. 27 in Hartford County, Newington Police Chief Stephen Clark said that there were two confirmed fatalities in a four-vehicle crash that happened near the intersection of East Cedar Street and Patricia M. Suspect At Large After Threatening Workers With Machete During CT Wendy's Robbery, Police Say Police are investigating an alleged armed robbery at a Wendy's restaurant in Connecticut in which the suspect threatened employees with a machete. The incident took place in Hartford County around 1:15 a.m., Friday, Feb. 4 at the Wendy's located at 2384 Berlin Turnpike in Newington. According to the Newington Police, a lone man entered the restaurant through an unlocked door while the restaurant was closed to the public.
