A Fairfield County woman landed in handcuffs after police stopped her for a missing front license plate.
Margaret Jean Marshall, age 49, of New Canaan, was charged on Friday, Feb. 2, after she was stopped on Cherry Street for driving without a front license plate, said Lt. Marc DeFelice, of the New Canaan Police.
DeFelice said that while speaking with Marshall, the officer detected an odor of alcohol and signs of impairment.

A missing Connecticut mother of five has been declared dead by a judge after being missing for more than four years.
Fairfield County resident Jennifer Farber Dulos, age 50, of New Canaan, was declared dead officially by a judge on Tuesday, Oct. 24, 2023, according to ABC News 7.

A New York woman is being accused of driving under the influence after she was stopped for swerving into oncoming lanes of traffic in Fairfield County.
Northern Westchester County resident Shirley Wishnie, age 70, of South Salem, a hamlet of Lewisboro, was charged around 11:30 a.m., on Thursday, July 27 after the incident in New Canaan.

The chairman of the New Canaan Board of Education for the district's public schools has been arrested for alleged drunk driving.
Daniel Bennett, age 46, of New Canaan, was arrested around 11:30 p.m., Thursday, April 20 after police responded to a single-vehicle crash on White Oak Shade Road, said Lt. Marc DeFelice, of the New Canaan Police.

Man Nabbed For Masturbating In Public In New Canaan, Police Say
A Fairfield County man wanted for allegedly masturbating in public has been arrested.
The incident took place in New Canaan on Sunday, Oct. 30.
According to Lt. Marc DeFelice, of the New Canaan Police, officers responded to Ponus Ridge Road on a report of a man in the area seen masturbating in public.
A follow-up investigation led to an arrest warrant for Quincy Carrion, age 22, of Bridgeport, who was arrested on Thursday, Dec. 15, and charged with breach of peace, DeFelice said.
Carrion remains in the custody of New Canaan Police on a $25,000 bond.

A Fairfield County woman was arrested for alleged DUI after police received calls of a possible intoxicated driver.
The incident took place in New Canaan around 9:20 p.m., on Thursday, Sept. 22 in the area of Frogtown Road and Weed Street.
According to Lt. Jason Ferraro, of the New Canaan Police, responding officers found the vehicle stopped on Frogtown Road near Hanford Lane.
Upon speaking with the driver, identified as Christina Lynette Furniss, age 43, of Stamford, officers detected signs of impairment, Ferraro said.

ID Released For Man Found Burning At Park In New Canaan
A man who was found burning in a park in Fairfield County has been identified by the medical examiner's office.
The incident took place in New Canaan around 8:45 p.m., Wednesday, Aug. 10 in the area of Lapham Road near Waveny Park.
On Thursday, Aug. 25, the medical examiner's office positively identified the man as Howard Alan Fletcher, age 71, of Norwalk, said Lt. Jason Ferraro, of the New Canaan Police.
A cause of death has not been determined, Ferraro said.

Three years ago, Jennifer Farber Dulos, a Fairfield County mother of five, dropped her children off at New Canaan Country School and has never been seen again.
On Friday, May 24, 2019, the New Canaan police received a report of a missing person. The person reported missing was Jennifer Farber Dulos, age 50, a mother of five children.

Vehicle Crashes Into Pole, Causing Road Closure In New Canaan
A busy road was closed and a driver was injured after crashing into a utility pole in Fairfield County, police said.
It happened in New Canaan on Ponus Ridge Road around 5:30 a.m., Monday, May 9.
The crash, which is under investigation, caused a utility pole to snap, which caused the road closure as Eversource worked to replace it, said Lt. Jason Ferraro, of the New Canaan Police.
The driver, who was not identified, was transported to an area hospital. The extent of their injuries was unknown.
