Towns in Fairfield County that have enacted plastic bag ban ordinances are now focusing efforts on communication. New Canaan's plastic bag ban ordinance was adopted by the Town Council on Feb. 27, 2019, and goes into effect on Aug. 27, 2019. Man, 35, Inside Closed New Canaan Library Faces Drug Charges
A Norwalk man is facing drug charges after he accidentally found himself locked inside the New Canaan Library during the latest winter storm to strike the area. Officers from the New Canaan Police Department were dispatched to the library shortly before 3:45 p.m. on Wednesday afternoon, where there was a commercial burglar alarm activation at the location. An investigation into the incident led officers to Norwalk resident Luis Palomino, 32, who was attempting to exit the library after entering the library through an unlocked door when it had closed early due to the winter weather.
