The home located at 322 Dan’s Highway went up in flames in the afternoon on Saturday, Nov. 16, reports New Canaan Fire Chief Jack Hennessey. The fire, fueled by high winds, was extinguished to a controlled state with the help of fire crews from Norwalk, Wilton, Pound Ridge, South Salem and other areas, Hennessey said. “We saw heavy fire on our arrival. Lack Of Cell Service Forces New Canaan Woman To Leave Home To Seek Help After Electrical Fire A woman had to leave her home in order to find help after a short circuit sparked an electrical fire and a power outage because she was unable to get cell phone service in northeast New Canaan. The incident took place on Saturday when New Canaan firefighters were on the scene of a tree and wires down on Laurel Road when the resident drove up and informed them that there was a fire in her home on Bob Hill Lane, said New Canaan Fire Marshal Fred Baker.
