A suspect has been apprehended after a shooting in a Connecticut town led a nearby university to shelter in place. The incident occurred in Middlesex County around 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 24, in the area of Pearl Street and Court Street in Middletown. A former Connecticut high school math teacher is being accused of sexually assaulting a student. Middlesex County resident James Hanson, age 35, of Middletown, was arrested by warrant on Tuesday, April 2. A Connecticut woman who was reported missing last week has been found dead. Middlesex County resident Palma Hydross, age 66, of Westbrook, was reported missing on Thursday, 18 on Toby Hill Road, said the Connecticut State Police. A Silver alert was issued, but was later canceled, police said. Troopers said her body was found just before 10:40 a.m., Saturday, Jan. 20. Middlesex County resident Scott Kracke, of Middlefield, died of a gunshot wound around 8 p.m., Sunday, Jan. 14 in New Haven County, on I-691 eastbound in Meriden.
