Alex Jones Ordered To Pay Sandy Hook Shooting Victim's Family A Total Of $49M Far-right radio host and conspiracy theorist Alex Jones has been ordered by a Texas jury to pay nearly $50 million to the family of a young boy killed in the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting in Newtown, Connecticut. In a unanimous decision Friday, Aug. 5, the jury said Jones must pay $45.2 million in punitive damages in a lawsuit filed by the parents of 6-year-old victim Jesse Lewis. Judge Throws Out Parents' Sandy Hook Lawsuit A judge has denied a lawsuit filed by the parents of two children killed during the Sandy Hook Elementary School massacre against the town of Newtown and its school district. In a 29-page decision, Connecticut Superior Court Judge Robin Wilson granted the town's request for summary judgment saying the school officials' actions were protected by governmental immunity.
