Workers at an Amazon warehouse in New York have made history in becoming the first in the company’s history to successfully form a union. In Staten Island, voters from the JFK8 fulfillment center easily voted to approve the measure, with the Amazon Labor Union winning 2,654 yes votes versus 2,131 no votes for the company. A major New York tech company founder who blasted into space with actor William Shatner last month was aboard a small plane that crashed in New Jersey, killing him and a local flight instructor, authorities confirmed Friday, Nov 12. A native New Yorker from the region has replaced Jeff Bezos as the CEO of Amazon. Hudson Valley native Andy Jassy, who grew up in Westchester County, has worked at Amazon since 1997, and he previously served as the company's CEO of web services, according to Business Insider.
