Woman Nabbed For Stealing From New Canaan Store, Police Say
One of two women who allegedly stole more than $700 worth of merchandise from an area store has been charged with the theft.
Azra Zejnilovic, age 22, of the Bronx, turned herself in to the New Canaan Police on Wednesday, Sept. 1, for the incident which took place in February at the Athletic Shoe Factory.
According to New Canaan Police, police responded to the store, located at 3 Forest St., on a report of a larceny from the store by two women.
The total value of clothing stolen from the store was $780, said Lt. Jason Ferraro.

A Fairfield County man who said he accidentally shot his wife to death in their basement has been charged with her murder.
Albert Kokoth, age 77, of New Canaan, was arrested on Tuesday, July 13, for the Thursday, May 6, shooting death of his wife Margaret Kokoth.
When police arrived at the home, Kokoth told officers that his shotgun accidentally "went off," striking his wife and killing her.

Worker Accused Of Stealing $3K In Cash, Alcohol From New Canaan Restaurant
A Fairfield County restaurant employee was arrested after allegedly stealing more than $3,000 in alcohol and cash.
Felipe Andaur-Leiva, age 33, of Fairfield, was arrested on Monday, May 17, for the thefts which took place at the Sole Restaurant in New Canaan, said New Canaan PD Lieutenant Jason Ferraro.
According to Ferraro, New Canaan Police responded to the restaurant in April for a report of theft by an employee.
The thefts by Andaur-Leiva, which took place over a period of time, included alcohol and cash. The total value of items taken was $3,175, Ferraro said.
